Random selfish commentary
The closer I get to 40, the closer I actually get to feeling like my life is on the right track for once. The once dreaded number now almost seems comforting. As a woman living with Chronic Lyme disease, there are days when life is just a little bit more complicated. But I have this requirement of my life not to let it dictate how I live. Sometimes I have to struggle through the more painful days and worry about what’s ahead for me. But really, I have a good life and I am so thankful that I can wake up each day and still be mobile.
My children are almost grown, some have moved away from home while others are still here for a while. I am so proud of each of them, they have grown into amazing people right before my eyes. Even though sometimes I wish I could keep my little girl in pigtail and PJs, I know that their growing up is part of life that I asked for. I’ve spent all of my adult life being a mother and now as I wander into my 40′s I am excited about the opportunities ahead.
The life I want, the one I chose for myself, it’s changing every day. And I am so glad that I have those I love right there with me. I couldn’t ask for a better partner, better friends or family.
Living the life you want begins with waking up each morning and asking yourself who do you want to be today. Then each step after that should be towards that life you want. Sometimes for me, my answer is I want to be the best wife, or mother, or friend I can be. Other times it’s reaching for my goals of having a successful career with my Webshop – Morning Tempest Studios. Then there are those days when my body is just lagging behind and I say, ” Today I’ll just be happy with sipping my coffee, reading a good book, and enjoying life.. that’s all I need from today. “
